We all know how stressful the festive season feels! So here are a few festive hacks we came up with:
Put your tree up in November
Now we realise it’s a bit late for this hack now we are in December but remember it for next year. It’s old school thinking to feel like you have to wait until December 1st to put the tree up – so put it up sometime in November and enjoy it in all its beauty for much longer!
Wrap gifts as you buy them
Has anyone else ever stayed up til 1 am on Christmas Eve wrapping gifts? Why not start wrapping gifts as you buy them? And then stash them somewhere safe. It will release you from a mad dash when things are most hectic!
Block out shopping time armed with a list
Choose where to allocate shopping time and head there prepared. Have a list and know which stores to hit up before you ever even step foot inside the shopping centre. If you can be there on open time you may even get in and out without much of a fuss too!
Even make a plan to reward yourself for getting through your list—after all, nothing keeps a person calm and composed quite like a celebratory ice cream cone.
Chew Gum
Bring a pack of gum with you on every holiday shopping trip you take this year. Why? Because according to an Australian study, people who chew gum reduce their anxiety by 17% during mildly stressful situations compared to those with nothing in their mouths!
Sleep
Cutting back on sleep is the last thing you want to do if you want to stay sane during the silly season…
Go forth and conquer!
