Guilia’s Story: Pasta Shared is Pasta Enjoyed!

Guilia has made pasta from scratch her whole life. Her family would often gather together for Italian feasts based on family recipes handed down through generations.

When Guilia’s family first inquired about care for their mother they felt reluctant to admit her. They were concerned that Edmonton Gardens did not have many other Italian residents in residence. It was a heart wrenching decision for this very close family.

When Guilia first joined us, making pasta was one of the things she missed the most. So our Lifestyle team jumped into gear! They purchased all the ingredients needed for pasta making, and this is now something Guilia enjoys doing every month with her daughter Rosa. Watch the video here.

We love our families

Rosa regularly makes cupcakes for our staff, and her brother fills a vase at reception with fresh flowers every time he visits his mum.

The family are so grateful for the care Guilia has been receiving, and we are so grateful to have them all as part of our Infinite Care family.

In their words

Rosa has shared these words, “From the very first phone call regarding respite with Infinite Care, to our Mum now being a permanent resident, the process was made a lot easier with the reassurance that she would be looked after.

If it weren’t for all the wonderful staff at Edmonton Gardens the first few weeks would have been traumatic for myself and family members. Almost every time we would leave mum we would be upset not knowing whether we had made the right decision for our active mum. There was always someone there to pick up the pieces, and reassure us she would be fine and kept occupied. She has settled in really well and thinks her new home is lovely and clean with caring staff that look after her. Our family is always made to feel welcome when visiting and staff will help wherever they can.

They were also very accommodating to Mum’s hobbies, in particular making homemade pasta which we still do every month so she doesn’t forget her wonderful recipes. Mum is very social now with a great group of new friends. Thank you to the tireless staff for making the process a lot easier for our family.”
