Infection Control in Aged Care Relies on Education

08/06/2017

Given that most aged care residents are frail and have flagging immune systems, their protection is paramount.

Along with the evolution of technology comes continual innovations in cleaning and hygiene, and education is the key to aged care facilities finding workable solutions to combat the spread of infections.

Those involved in providing aged care are being encouraged to access and adopt cutting-edge infection control practices within facilities, as the design and materials used in homes play a big part in controlling the spread of infection.

There are new practices in aged care that providers can now access that show how to look for the right signals when conducting infection control audits, keep audits simple and ensure they use top healthcare cleaning products. Infinite Aged Care have adopted these practices in their existing homes where possible and new build facilities will incorporate such practices and products into the design to ensure they can lead the way in infection control.
