Much loved Churchill Retreat resident, Noel McGuinness, has been working extremely hard in recent months building and designing his model train set up. The recent completion of this mammoth project marks a satisfying conclusion of a life-long dream!
Noel started this project back in early February, and five months on it is evident his painstaking attention to detail has been well worth it. What a true sense of personal achievement he is enjoying as everyone in the facility gives him a pat on the back for his efforts.
Apart from some early assistance from a co-resident, and his son building the table this tiny locomotive town sits on – Noel has achieved this all himself, including making all the buildings, the wall back drops, laying the track and much, much more.
Noel has tried in the past to make this dream a reality, however due to different life circumstances he has been unable to complete this until now.
Noel is extremely proud of his hard work, and we are too. We are particularly grateful that all the staff and residents are also able to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
We are working to have a cover made for the table and set up so others can see and enjoy Noel’s amazing achievement without any accidental damage being done to this impressive structure.
Well done Noel!
